    History of Gloves

    • - Glove is first mentioned in Homer's Epic in the sixth century BC. The ancient Greeks wear special gloves before using their hands to grab food. Therefore, gloves were designed as a pilaf tool in history.
      - European women began to wear gloves for decoration since the 13th century. These gloves are generally linen or silk and some of them reach elbow.
      - Later, white glove were used in Religious, political and military field.
      - Now, glove is a must to keep hands warm in cold area.
      - As the spreading of COVID since 2019, disposable medical gloves become a hot commodity.

    Classification of Gloves

    Glove can be divided into several kinds based on different standard:
    • Producing Method

    • Cotton yarn, plush, leather, microfiber, cloth, rubber, PVC, etc.
    • Finger shape
    • The shape covers: Split finger gloves, mittens, straight gloves, half-finger gloves and fingerless gloves.
    • Split finger gloves: a separate sheath for each finger.
    • Mittens: a separate sheath for the thumbs, the remaining 4 fingers are connected together.
    • Three-finger gloves : one sheath for the thumb, one sheath for the index finger, and the other 3 fingers share one sheath.
    • Straight gloves : 5 fingers share one sheath.
    • Half-finger gloves: each sheath is not closed at the end, the sheath only cover half fingers, mostly till the end of the first knuckle.
    • Fingerless gloves: no sheath for finger part, open at the heel of the finger.
