- Battery ( Power supply )
- The battery provides electric energy for the driving motor of electric motorcycle. Then the electric energy will be converted into mechanical energy to drive the wheels forward. For the time bing, lead-acid batteries is main product used on motorcycle, although it will must be replaced by new battery.
- Drive motor
- Drive motor is the device to convert the electrical energy into mechanical energy, and drive the wheels and working devices directly through the transmission device. Nowadays, DC series motors are widely used in electric vehicles. However, with the development of motor technology, it will be replaced by DC brushless motors (BCDM) and switched reluctance motors in the future.
- Motor speed control device
- By controlling the voltage or current of the motor, Motor speed control device is used to control the speed of the motorcycle.
The device developed from stepped speed regulation to the thyristor chopping speed regulation, which is a step-less speed regulation by uniformly changing the terminal voltage of the motor and controlling the current of the motor. As the development of electronic power technology, it will be gradually replaced by other power transistors (including GTO, MOSFET, BTR and IGBT, etc.) chopper speed regulation devices; and the DC inverter technology will be applied in the future.
- Driving device
- Same with traditional motorcycle, the driving device turn the driving torque of the motor into a force on the ground through the wheel.
- Braking device
- Same with other cycle, the baking device of electric motorcycle is composed of a brake and its operating device.
